Electronic technician for industrial engineering

Electronics technicians for industrial engineering carry out installation, servicing and repair work on operational or production-technological installations. An interest in and an understanding of electrotechnical, electronic and mechanical matters, plus manual dexterity, are important prerequisites for selecting this vocational training course. A master's certificate can be obtained later on. The training course lasts 3½ years and is available at SHW Automotive's Bad Schussenried plant.

Model construction mechanic

Model construction mechanics use machines to produce moulds. They also plan and supervise the production process at automated installations during the casting of workpieces from iron, steel or other metals. The training course lasts 3½ years and is offered at the SHW Automotive plant in Tuttlingen-Ludwigstal.

Industrial clerks have typically commercial and business related work, also working as assistants or secretaries, or are active in personnel and accounting departments. This job requires enjoyment of commercial activities, good spelling skills, interest in office communication, and creative use of texts and figures. The course lasts 3 years and is offered in SHW Automotive's Bad Schussenried plant.

Industrial mechanic

Industrial mechanics make, set up or convert appliance components and subassemblies for machines and production systems. They monitor and optimize production processes and also carry out repair and service jobs. A supplementary professional training course guarantees systematic familiarisation with everyday practice. The course lasts 3½ years and is offered at the SHW Automotive plants in Aalen-Wasseralfingen and Bad Schussenried.

Mechatronics engineer

Mechatronics engineers build mechanical, electrical and electronic components and assemble them into complex systems. They are also active in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of complex operational and production-technical plants. After training, interdisciplinary courses to become a technician for automation technology are possible. The course lasts 3½ years and is offered in the SHW Automotive plants Bad Schussenried and Tuttlingen-Ludwigstal.

Technical product designer

Technical product designer convert the ideas and parameters provided by engineers and designers into technical plans and documentation. They develop detailed drawings ready for production from larger drawings, and draw up inventories and order lists for production. Here a good sense for three dimensions and precision are just as important as familiarity with various different operating systems. The training course lasts 3½ years and is offered at the SHW Automotive plants Bad Schussenried and Tuttlingen-Ludwigstal.

Machining mechanic

Machining mechanics manufacture precision structural components, mainly from metal, by using such machining methods as turning, milling, boring or grinding. They work using technical documentation, plan production sequences and generate programs for machine controls. They set up machines, supervise production processes and implement quality assurance. The course lasts 3½ years and is offered in the SHW Automotive plants of Aalen-Wasseralfingen and Bad Schussenried.
